Why we don’t callourselves an AI agency
AI is our engine, not our brand. Here’s the thinking behind a creative studio that uses AI heavily but refuses to lead with it.
- 01
“AI agency” ages into a non-statement, it commoditises fast.
- 02
Leading with the tool invites the client to ask why they can’t just do it themselves.
- 03
We sell outcomes; AI is how we deliver them at a level that used to be out of reach.
We use AI in almost everything we make. We also refuse to call ourselves an AI agency. That is not a contradiction, it is a positioning choice, and here is the reasoning.
Branding on AI ages badly
In a couple of years, “AI creative studio” will read like “we use computers.” AI is becoming table stakes, not a differentiator. Building a brand on a feature that commoditises every quarter is a slow way to become invisible.
It invites the wrong question
The moment AI is your headline, the client’s next thought is: can’t I just do this myself with the same tools? Now you are competing with a subscription, not with a studio. The value of a studio is judgement, direction and consistency, the things the tools do not give you.
So what do we sell?
Outcomes. A brand that means business. Films that get watched to the end. Content at a level your budget was never supposed to reach. AI is simply how we deliver those, and why the ceiling moved. We are not an AI company. We are a creative studio that can now build things no studio our size could build before.
Does Abiroot use AI in client work?
Yes, across branding exploration, content production, ad creative and film. Every piece is directed, curated and finished by senior people; AI raises the ceiling of what a given budget can buy, it never replaces judgement.
Why does positioning on outcomes matter more than positioning on AI?
Because tools commoditise and outcomes don’t. Clients keep paying for work that converts, films that hold attention and brands that win their category, whatever produced them.
Want this kind of thinking applied to your brand? That’s the job.
